Early Career Researcher Awarded Coveted Policy Award
Dr Catherine Price has been awarded a Policy Award from the Institute of Policy and Engagement at the University of Nottingham to further her outstanding contribution to evidence-informed policymaking.
Dr Price’s research focuses on the social, ethical and governance dimensions of carbon removal technologies, with particular attention to biochar and its role in UK agriculture. Through sustained engagement with policymakers, regulators and industry stakeholders, Dr Price has contributed to national discussions on the responsible development and deployment of greenhouse gas removal strategies.
Over the course of her work, she has collaborated closely with UK government departments and agencies, helping to inform policy debates with robust social science evidence. Her contributions have included policy reports, stakeholder workshops, advisory input, and cross-sector dialogues aimed at ensuring that carbon removal approaches are both environmentally effective and socially legitimate.
